SOFIA – The Definition of Bounce

Out of nowhere, familiar and sassy vocals cut through the mix while the bass hits deep in the chest. With a twist of surprise, SOFIA guarantees a hell of a party. For her, a good time means everything.

While icons like Nicki Minaj and Skrillex sparked her initial interest, the raw energy of old-school Jungle and Drum & Bass finally inspired her to get behind the decks in 2021. Her palette quickly expanded into various genres of electronic music after a DJ course. The name SOFIA represents this freedom: no limits. Her experience spans across Finland, from underground raves to weddings and nightclubs like 45 Special, leading her to join the silly4eva collective.

She describes her sound with one word: bounce. Her sets are defined by attitude, catchy female vocals, and a bold, sexy energy that keeps the vibe light-hearted. She isn’t afraid to break boundaries or jump between BPMs. A true perfectionist, SOFIA curates her sets with precision. Behind the decks, she channels the most confident version of herself, driven by a genuine love for the music.

Born and raised in Oulu, SOFIA has no plans to leave. She describes the local scene as exceptionally communal, where even the baby artists are given a chance to shine. The atmosphere is also professional and favors genuine good vibes. She calls for more over-the-top silliness and, crucially, more women on stage.

In the future she is determined to introduce niche concepts from Southern Finland to Oulu through well-curated events. Creating these experiences is her number one priority, with playing damn good gigs coming in a close second.
